The Alfred State volleyball team will turn in their normal blue jersey's to wear pink on Tuesday, Oct. 16th when they take on Erie CC.  The Dig Pink event is part of a nationwide fundraiser for the Side-Out Foundation.

The Lady Pioneers have organized multiple fundraisers for the evening.  There will be a pink duck adoption, a basket raffle, and a Jar War competition.  The loser of the Jar War competition (contestants are Mick and Mike Caba, JR Smeenk, Spencer Peavey, and Gene Doorley) will have a whipped cream pie thrown in their face following the conclusion of the contest.  Alfred State Dig Pink T-shirts are also being sold.

All proceeds of Dig Pink events benefit Side-Out, which in turn awards grants to medical research organizations and entities dedicated to providing compassionate support to breast cancer patients and their families.

This is the third straight season the volleyball team has hosted a Dig Pink and fourth time in the past five years.  Fans are encouraged to wear pink to the event and support the fundraising effort.  Contests will take place in between games of the match.
