Among the activities that evening: ASC Business Department, talked about the Veterans’ Task Force and read poetry. The Veterans’ Ergo is Alfred State's tribute to the men and women who serve this country and to their families. It begins with a dedication to Zach Smith and the many other soldiers who gave their lives; his mother and several friends wrote pieces about him. The magazine contains photos from Allegany County's Revolutionary War veteran, to the gravestone of Jason Dunham, to the Elmira Veterans' Cemetery, to pictures of the Moving Wall, to photos of two World War II veterans, who are the fathers of Alfred faculty. The centerfold, at the request of several of our current veterans, is entitled "Beyond the Service" and shows veterans having fun. This issue of Ergo contains 45 years of contributions covering the Korean War, the Vietnam War, Desert Storm, and the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. Many of the pieces in the magazine have been previously published in Ergo. Copies of Ergo may be obtained by contacting the College’s English and Humanities Department at (607) 587-4180.
