Track Team Competes at Colgate

The Alfred State College indoor track and field team competed at the Colgate University Class of '32 Invitational on Saturday.  The Pioneers competed versus numerous NCAA Division I and III competition along with their NJCAA Region III foes.

The Alfred State College indoor track and field team competed at the Colgate University Class of '32 Invitational on Saturday.  The Pioneers competed versus numerous NCAA Division I and III competition along with their NJCAA Region III foes.

Edward Sparks (Horseheads) was the lone Pioneer to place in the competition.  Sparks finished 6th in the pole vault with a leap of 4.27 m.

Today's competition included the crowing of a Region III Champion in the distance medley relay.  The ASC men's team of Logan Drummer (Pioneer), Ian Marshall (Bronx/DeWitt Clinton), Derek Snyder (Bath), and Brandon Lewis (Red Creek) finished 2nd with a time of 11:10.06.  The women, Kaleigh Ligoci (Cicero North Syracuse), Christina Losecco (Canisteo Greenwood), Carey Crooker (Addison), and Bridget McMahon (Avoca) finished 3rd with a time of 13:48.56.

The Pioneers return to action next weekend at the Syracuse University Invitational.  Region III Championship competition will continue on February 19th at RIT.
