Thone Leads Swimmers at Herkimer

Danielle Thone (Wappingers Falls/Roy Ketcham) won three events to lead the Alfred State swim team at the Herkimer CCC Fall Invitational. The Pioneer men finished 4th while the women finished 5th in the competition.

Danielle Thone (Wappingers Falls/Roy Ketcham) won three events to lead the Alfred State swim team at the Herkimer CCC Fall Invitational.  The Pioneer men finished 4th while the women finished 5th in the competition.


Thone won the 50 free (27.18), the 100 free (59.74), and the 200 butterfly (2:34.08) to pace the Lady Pioneers.  Christy Dodd (Windsor) was 2nd in the 200 free (2:16.84) and the 200 back (2:30.05), and 4th in the 100 free (1:02.83). 


Sanjay Raman (Owego Free) won the 50 free (23.52) and was 2nd in the 200 butterfly (2:27.37).  He also teamed with Josh McDowell (Wayland Cohocton), Jake Drew (Victor), and Kalem Chambliss (Alfred Almond) for a 2nd place finish in the 400 free (3:48.39).


Chambliss also earned a 3rd place finish in the 50 free (25.18) and the 100 free (56.87).  Tyler Easterbrook (Bath Haverling) was 3rd in the 500 free (6:03.83).


The Pioneer men scored 181 points on the day while the women scored 107.


Alfred has a few days off for the Thanksgiving break but return to the pool on November 30th when they compete in the three-day Monroe CC Invitational
