State College employees are once again invited to participate in the annual
Take Our Daughters and Sons to Work® Day on Thursday, April 23.
opens this activity up not only to daughters and sons, but also to
granddaughters, grandsons, nieces, and nephews between the ages of nine and
15. Participants will take part in interactive learning activities,
including career exploration; community service; job shadowing with the parent,
grandparent, aunt, or uncle; a campus tour; and some fun and games.
Our Daughters and Sons to Work® Day is designed to expand
opportunities for girls and boys, expose them to what adults in their lives do
during the work day, show them the value of their education, and give them an
opportunity to share how they envision their future. It is intended to be more
than a career day. Each year, workplaces and adults around the country
recognize its benefits and participate in the program to support our nation's
daughters and sons.
Our Daughters and Sons to Work® Day program was founded by the Ms. Foundation for Women
to create an opportunity for girls and boys to share and communicate their
expectations for the future.
