Swimmers Compete at Monroe Double Dual

For the second week in a row the Alfred State men's swimming team split a WNYAC double dual match. The Pioneers defeated Mercyhurst North East 89-31 but fell 117-46 to Monroe CC. In the women's competition, Alfred fell 113-28 to Monroe and 68-46 to Mercyhurst NE.

For the second week in a row the Alfred State men's swimming team split a WNYAC double dual match.  The Pioneers defeated Mercyhurst North East 89-31 but fell 117-46 to Monroe CC.  In the women's competition, Alfred fell 113-28 to Monroe and 68-46 to Mercyhurst NE.


Christy Dodd (Windsor) was the lone Pioneer to win event.  She won the 100 back in 1:09.86.  Dodd was also 2nd in the 200 IM (2:42.08).  Danielle Thone (Wappingers Falls/Roy Ketcham) was 2nd in the 50 free (27.54) and 3rd in the 100 fly (1:07.11).


Sanjay Raman (Owego Free) was 2nd in the 100 fly (58.67) and 3rd in the 200 IM (2:21.79)Jake Drew (Victor) was 2nd in the 500 free (6:13.96)Tyler Easterbrook (Bath) was 3rd in the 50 free (27.26), the 100 free (59.13), and the 100 breast (1:24.81). Tyler Ribble (Elmira Southside) was 3rd in the 100 fly (1:16.19) and Kalem Chambliss (Alfred Almond) was 3rd in the 100 back (1:13.39).


The Pioneers will next compete at the Herkimer CCC on Saturday.  Action is slated to begin at 1 p.m.
