Rod Streater (Burlington, NJ) had a huge day as the Alfred State College track and field team competed at SUNY Geneseo on Saturday afternoon.

Rod Streater (Burlington, NJ) had a huge day as the Alfred State College track and field team competed at SUNY Geneseo on Saturday afternoon.

Streater broke the Alfred State College record in the high jump with a leap of 2.05 m (6'8 ¾".  He breaks Shennan Hennrich's previous record of 6'6 ¼".  His leap earned him 2nd place in the competition.  Streater also won the 200 (21.91) and finished 3rd in the 100 (11.04).

David Gross (Brockport) was 2nd in the discus (43.02).  Lemanuel Hawkins (Iroquois) and Ken Maddox (Frederick Douglass) qualified for Nationals in both the 100 and 200.  Hawkins ran the 200 in 22.81 and the 100 in 11.30 while Maddox ran a 22.82 in the 200 and 11.25 in the 100.  Logan Drummer (Pioneer) qualified for regionals in the 1500 (4:19.84).

A busy week for track and field continues tomorrow as a trio of athletes (Shawna McNeil, Schuyler Duross, and Jarrod Glaser) compete at the Region III Decathlon/Heptathlon at Erie CC's Orchard Park Campus.
