Dusty Marshall (Newfield) led ASC with 16 points while Jimmie Dillard (Gates Chili) finished with 11. Cerrone Jackson (Forrest Hills) and Travis Brannen (Elmira Free) each chipped in six points.
A-State held a 30-12 lead at halftime and led by as many as 25 in the 2nd half before the Spartans mounted a late comeback.
The Blue and Gold return to action on Friday when they host Cuyahoga (OH) CC at 7 p.m.
