Ribbon Cutting Ceremony at The TerraceSmiles were the order du jour as Alfred State College and The Terrace, a whole new concept in fresh, customizable, and delicious all-you-care-to eat dining, is the result of a major rehab of the Central Dining Hall—in structure, equipment, and décor. After a series of upgrades during an accelerated timeline, the Terrace has left traditional dining hall fare behind in order to offer a series of food service “stations” where diners can avail themselves of six unique specialty serving areas (or they may sample them all!). This variety of cuisines includes Asian Flare which features dishes from Thailand, Japan, and China; Grille Works which offers hamburgers, hot dogs, chicken breasts, Italian sausage, and French fries; Traditions which supplies good ol’ home-style comfort foods such as baked chicken, roast beef, turkey with all the trimmings, pork chops, mashed potatoes, and vegetables; Carve and Create where students can build their own sandwiches to order; Primo Italiano which offers several pastas served with a choice of protein and fresh sauces as well as a wide variety of pizzas; and Just Desserts which tempts with a variety of bakery sweets, ice cream, yogurt, ice cream novelties, and fresh fruit. The 24-item salad bar remains, offering two soups and fresh produce and greens daily for lunch.
