The Alfred State College football team jumped out to a 14-0 lead but Nassau CC bounced back and turned things around en route to a 47-14 victory on Saturday.  The loss ends the Pioneeers season with a 3-7 record while the Lions end the season with a 7-3 record.

The Alfred State College football team jumped out to a 14-0 lead but Nassau CC bounced back and turned things around en route to a 47-14 victory on Saturday.  The loss ends the Pioneeers season with a 3-7 record while the Lions end the season with a 7-3 record.

Jermell Corbitt (Naples, FL) connected with Mike Septh (Monroe Woodbury) on scoring strikes of 30 and 20 yards in the 1st quarter to give the Pioneers an early lead.

Nassau's offense exploded for 27 points on four scoring drives to erase their early deficit and take control of the game.  The Lions added two more scoring drives in the 3rd quarter and one in the 4th quarter to seal the game.

Corbitt finished 8 for 21 for 113 yards while Septh caught four passes for 77 yards.  Jason Brand (Springfield, VA) carried the ball 20 times for 63 yards.

Colin Rodriguez finished 9 for 13 for 106 yards and three scores for Nassau.  Rahoo Walker gained 97 yards on the ground while Jah Rodriguez gained 69 yards on 17 carries.

Bradon Moyer (Cazenovia) led the Pioneers with 12 tackles while Nick Monroe (Irondequoit) added 10.  Brian Abrams (Saranac Lake) and Clifton Krotz (Cattaraugus Little Valley) each chipped in nine tackles and Jeremy Wernick (Ellenville) was credited with a fumble recovery.

Shea McKeen led Nassau with six tackles, four for a loss while Avery Grant, Tyler Warker, and Hugh DeImperio each finished with five tackles each.

Nassau gained 360 yards while A-State was held to 141 yards.
