The #10 ranked Alfred State College lacrosse team closed out the home portion of their season with a 21-11 victory over Jefferson CC on Saturday.  Ten different Pioneers found the back of net as the blue and gold scored their most goals of the season.

The #10 ranked Alfred State College lacrosse team closed out the home portion of their season with a 21-11 victory over Jefferson CC on Saturday.  Ten different Pioneers found the back of net as the blue and gold scored their most goals of the season.

The Pioneers jumped on top early on the Cannoneers leading 8-3 after the first quarter and 14-5 at halftime.

Tony Micelotta (Irondequoit) and Ryan Grogan (Churchville) led the offense with three goals and five assists apiece.  William Ardolino (William Floyd) recorded a hat trick and passed out an assist.  Ryan Speciale (Corning West) and James Moss (Hilton) each had two goals and an assist while Josh Mateo (Waterloo) and Troy Johnson (Hilton) scored twice.

Mitch Mertel (Churchville), Ben Rossignolo (Churchville), and Chase Bailey (Corning West) each found the back of the net as well.

Marshall Merritt (Marcellus) made 12 saves in net to earn the victory.

The Pioneers head into their regular season finale on Sunday with a 9-3 mark and a 7-3 record in Region III play.  ASC travels to Tompkins Cortland CC for a 1 p.m. contest on Sunday.
