Monroe led 56-55 and had possession of the ball with under 40 seconds left looking to add to their lead. The Tribunes turned the ball over and gave Alfred State one last chance. After getting the ball to half court and taking a timeout, Parker hit an off balance three with a hand in his face to earn the victory for the Pioneers as the horn rang to end the game.
The contest was a back and forth affair that featured eight ties. MCC had two seven point leads including 48-41 in the 2nd half.
Parker finished the day with a game-high 23 points. He was 8 for 11 from the foul line and his game-winning shot was his lone 3-pointer for the contest. Rasheem Creech (Brooklyn/Transit Tech) finished with 12 and DaQuan Allen (Brooklyn/Boys & Girls) had 10. The Pioneers were 16 for 19 from the foul line (11 for 12 in the 1st half).
Andre Armstrong led the Tribunes (16-11, 7-4 WNYAC) with 11 points while Kevin Marmolejos finished with 10. The Tribunes shot 42.6% from the field and turned the ball over 21 times.
The Pioneers take on Lakeland (OH) CC on Saturday at 2 p.m. in their final non-conference contest of the season.
