The Alfred State outdoor track & field team will head into the Region III Championships this weekend ranked #9 in the latest NJCAA Division III poll.
Alfred State is one of four Region III teams in the men's poll and one of five on in the women's poll. SUNY Delhi is ranked #1 on the men's side while Mohawk Valley CC is top ranked in the women's poll.
ASC's men's 4x400 relay led the way in their most recent competition on Saturday at SUNY Geneseo. The relay team of Kris Heidrick (Allegany Limestone), Ian Marshall (DeWitt Clinton), Brandon Lewis (Red Creek), and Jeff Harris (Saunders Trade & Tech) combined to run a 3:32.34 to earn a spot at the National Championships.
The 2010 Region III Outdoor Track & Field Championships begin on Friday afternoon at 3 p.m. at SUNY Delhi. Competition will continue all day Saturday with the 2010 champion crowned at approximately 6 p.m.
