Pioneers Race Past TC3 in Season Finale

Alfred State scored the first 11 goals and led 17-1 at halftime as they capped their season with a 23-3 victory over Tompkins Cortland CC.  The Pioneers finish 5-9 overall and 5-7 in Region III play.

Alfred State scored the first 11 goals and led 17-1 at halftime as they capped their season with a 23-3 victory over Tompkins Cortland CC.  The Pioneers finish 5-9 overall and 5-7 in Region III play.

Tony Micelotta (Irondequoit) tallied five goals and an assist while Kevin Gardrvits (Glen Cove) found the back of the net five times as eight Pioneers scored in the victory.  Ryan Speciale (Corning West) finished with four goals and an assist, Anthony Amoroso (Jamestown) had three goals and an assist, and James Moss (Hilton) scored once and had three assists.

Chase Bailey (Corning West) and Tyler Baird (Corning West) both scored twice while Gary Parmelee (Geneva) tallied one goal.  Tim Dyer (Penn Yan), Troy Johnson (Hitlon), Josh Reese (Berlin, NJ), and Aaron Kosowski (East Aurora) all picked up one assist.  Reese also picked up a game high nine ground balls.

Jon Shumway (Oneonta) made four saves in the first half while Randy Kryszak (Orchard Park) made three in the second.

Shane Wilson, John Knapp, and Doug Bushnell tallied goals for TC3.
