The Alfred State College men's basketball team shot 50.9% (28 for 55) from the field as the opened up 2009 with a 71-44 victory over JCC-Olean on Saturday.  ASC evens up their record at 7-7 (1-1 WNYAC).

The Alfred State College men's basketball team shot 50.9% (28 for 55) from the field as the opened up 2009 with a 71-44 victory over JCC-Olean on Saturday.  ASC evens up their record at 7-7 (1-1 WNYAC).

Neil Wilson (Fort Worth, TX) was 10 for 12 from the field (4 for 6 from three) and led the Pioneers with 26 points.  Travis Brannen (Elmira Free) also had a big game finishing with 20 points, 16 rebounds, and seven blocks.  Idris Alaka (Brooklyn/Park West) chipped in nine points while Chris Lorenzo (Syracuse/Corcoran) scored seven points, passed out seven assists, and was credited with 10 steals.

Olean was led by Derek Leeblanc's 14 points off the bench while Andy Evans finished with seven points and eight boards. 

The Pioneers return to action on Tuesday when they host Niagara CCC at 7:30 p.m. in another WNYAC contest.
