Thirteen Pioneers tallied points as the Alfred State lacrosse team raced past Elmira College JV 25-4 in the team's final non-region game of the season. The wins snaps a five-game slide and improves the blue & gold to 3-5 on the year.

Thirteen Pioneers tallied points as the Alfred State lacrosse team raced past Elmira College JV 25-4 in the team's final non-region game of the season.  The wins snaps a five-game slide and improves the blue & gold to 3-5 on the year.

The Pioneers took control of the game from the start.  They raced out to a 8-3 lead after the 1st and held a 13-3 lead at half.  They continued the offensive attack with twelve more goals in the 2nd half and held the Soaring Eagles to just one score.

Lance Elithorpe (Shaftsbury, VT) led all Pioneer scorers with seven points (three goals and four assists).  Kyle Davis (Cortland/Homer) had three goals and two assists, Brad Zacher (Medina) had four goals, and Mike Hart (Ajax, ONT) had three goals and an assist.  Jordan Napierala (West Irondequoit) had two goals and an assist, Keegan Phelan (East Aurora) had a goal and three assists, and Tim Randall (Churchville Chili) had a goal and two assists.

Michael Maranga (Rockaway/St. Edmond), Chance Lowry (Waterloo), and Justin Smith (Bloomingdale/Saranac Lake) both found the back of the net twice while Danny Weimer (Derby/Lake Shore) and Aaron Koskowski (East Aurora) scored once.  James Gorton (Vernon Verona Sherrill) was credited with one assist.

In net, Brad Stowell (Marcellus) picked up the win with eight saves in the 1st half.  Randy Kryszak (Orchard Park) recorded eight saves in the 2nd half for Alfred State.

Alfred spends the rest of the week on the road. They travel to Batavia on Thursday for a 7 p.m. contest with the Cougars to start the trip.  They then head to #1 Onondaga CC on Saturday for a 1 p.m. game.
