Jacob Hall scored the lone goal of the first half to give FLCC a 1-0 lead. Tyler Paulsen (Letchworth) tied the game up after getting a pass from Jordan Angie (Marion).
The game looked destined to head to overtime but Metcalfe was able to find the back of the net after a wild scramble in front of the net.
Josh Kashuba (Marathon) made seven saves in net for the Pioneers.
A-State was making their eight straight appearance in the Region III Division III Tournament.
