The Alfred State College baseball team fell 8-6 to Miami (OH) Hamilton to wrap up their annual trip to Cocoa Expo in Cocoa, FL.  The Pioneers finish the trip with a 5-7 record.

The Alfred State College baseball team fell 8-6 to Miami (OH) Hamilton to wrap up their annual trip to Cocoa Expo in Cocoa, FL.  The Pioneers finish the trip with a 5-7 record.

Alfred took a 3-0 lead in the bottom of the 1st but Hamilton rallied for four runs in the bottom half of the inning and never gave up the lead.

Derek Speaker (Starpoint) led the offense with a 3 for 4 performance with two runs scored.  Yordis Veras (Newtown) was 2 for 4 with two doubles and an RBI, Karl Kofmel (Ottawa, ONT.) was 2 for 3 with three runs and a RBI, and Bryan Lance (Chenango Forks) was 1 for 3 with two RBI and a stolen base.

The Blue and Gold are scheduled to open up the northern portion of their season on Thursday when they travel to Scranton, PA to take on Lackawanna College.  First pitch is scheduled for 1 p.m.
