In the opener, Jeff Paul (Horseheads) singled home the game winning run in the 8th inning.  Paul singled home Adalberto Vargas (Norman Thomas) who led off the inning with a triple.  Derek Speaker (Starpoint) added an insurance run with a single to score pinch runner Corey McEnroe (Millbrook).

Paul led the offense with a 3 for 4 day while Kevin Underhill (Somers) was 2 for 5.

Jeff Benchich (Millbrook) improved to 2-2 on the year with eight innings of work on the mound.  Benchich allowed all five runs he gave up in the first two innings and didn't allow a run in his final six innings of work.  He finished with seven strikeouts and allowed six hits.

In the nightcap, the game was called because of darkness after eight innings.  ASC led 4-2 after two innings but the Falcons scored two in the 5th inning to tie the contest.  The tie is only the Pioneers 2nd tie in Coach Tom Kenney's fourteen years at the helm of the program.

Speaker led the offense with a 3 for 5 performance while Underhill was 2 for 5 with 2 RBI.  Yordis Veras (Newtown) was 1 for 3 with two walks, two runs scored, and a RBI.

Andrew Foster (Clarkson, ONT.) tossed all eight innings.  He allowed seven hits and three earned runs while striking out four batters.

The Pioneers are now 6-7-1 on the season while the Falcons are 10-5-1.  ASC returns to action on April 1st when they are scheduled to travel to Erie CC for a 2 p.m. doubleheader.
