The Alfred State men's swimming team improved to 5-1 in dual meet this season with a 107-55 victory over Jamestown CC. In ladies action, JCC earned a 96-11 victory.
Josh Stellrecht (Oakfield Alabama), Mark Pendelton (Beacon), and Jake Giglio (Hornell) were all double winners. Stellrecht won the 1650 free (20:07.79) and the 200 IM (2:25.31), Pendelton won the 200 free (2:03.37) and the 500 free (5:39.93), and Giglio won the 50 free (23.52) and the 100 fly (59.46). Tyler Sherwood (Elmira Southside) won the 100 back (1:03.69).
Sherwood, Pendleton, Josh McDowell (Wayland Cohocton), and Shane Chambry (Honeoye) combined to win the 200 medley relay (1:52.85) and McDowell, Chambry, Stellrecht, and Giglio combined to win the 400 free relay.
Maggie McBurney (Jamesville Dewitt) finished 2nd in the 200 IM (2:25.31), 2nd in the 100 free (1:12.56), and 3rd in the 500 free (7:12.33).
The Pioneers head to Jamestown CC on Saturday for the JCC Invitational. Events are slated to begin at 1 p.m.
