The Alfred State College men's soccer team evened up their record with a 2-1 victory over Broome CC.  The win in the team's first home match of the season improves the team to 3-3-1 while BCC is now 4-4.

CJ Reynolds (East Rochester) got the Pioneers on the board with 27:50 into the contest when he caught up to a free kick by Michael Gee (Arkport).  Gee's long free kick gave Reynolds a break-a-way in which Reynolds beat the goalie high.

Just over three minutes into the 2nd half, Peter Dezio (East Rochester) made it 2-0 when he found the back of the net.

BCC cut the lead in half in the final minutes of the game and threatened to tie it up but ASC held on.

The Pioneers held a 15 to 13 shot advantage.  Nick Smith (Arkport) made eight saves in the victory.

ASC hosts Niagara CCC at 1 p.m. on Saturday as the college celebrates Homecoming/Family Weekend 2011.
