In their final regular season tournament of the season, the Alfred State College wrestling team fared well at the Jamestown CC Open.  Fifteen teams competed at the tournament.

In their final regular season tournament of the season, the Alfred State College wrestling team fared well at the Jamestown CC Open.  Fifteen teams competed at the tournament.

Jordan Hughson (Holley) led the Blue and Gold with a 2-2 day.  He pinned Dennis Becosme (Ithaca) in his first round match and downed Miguel Periera (Niagara CCC) 4-2 in the quarterfinal.  In the semi's of 184 lbs., Hughson fell 5-2 to Jason Brown (U of Buffalo Unattached).  In a consolation match Hughson fell to Dan Rosemier (Jamestown CC) 10-3.

Devin Hennessey (Bridgewater-Raynham, MA) was 1-2 on the day at 141 lbs.  He earned a 5-4 victory over Joe Moran (Cortland) but fell 2-1 in a tight battle with Tom Barger (Lycoming) in the quarterfinals.  His day ended in a consolation match.

At 165, Andy Staie (Beaver River) was 1-2 on the day.  After falling in his first match of the day, Staie earned a 13-0 victory.

The Pioneers wrap up their regular season this week with WNYAC dual matches versus Niagara CCC and Jamestown CC.  Niagara visits Alfred on Wednesday for a 7 p.m. contest while ASC travels to Jamestown on Saturday for a 1 p.m. contest.
