The Alfred State indoor track & field team had numerous performance improvements at the two-day Bucknell Open. The Pioneers were the lone two-year college in the 16 team field.
Tara Murphy (Rochester/Wilson) finished 2nd in the 500 with a time of 1:21.24. Her performance qualified her for the NJCAA National Championships. The 500 is the second event she has qualified as she qualified in the 800 last weekend.
Briana Dorsey (Rochester/School of the Arts) was 6th in the 200 (26.77) and tied for 10th in the 60 (8.22). Caitlyn Hotchkiss (Springville) was 6th in the 500 in 1:26.66.
Jayvon Larkin (Rochester/Wilson) was 7th in the triple jump (13.22 m).
The Pioneers head to Ithaca College next Saturday for the Bomber Invitational. Action is scheduled for a 10 a.m. start.
