Peet opened up the competition with a pin of Jose Mariscal (Triton (IL) College) in 2:45. In his 2nd round match, Peet lost a hard fought 6-2 decision to Mac Malderelli (Nassau CC). In the consolation bracket, Peet rebounded with a pin of Demetrius Taylor (Ellsworth (IA) CC) in 1:53. In his consolation 3rd round match, Peet lost a one-point decision, 8-7, to Casey Williams (Itasca (MN) CC) to see his season come to an end.
Peet finishes his 2011-12 season with a 15-5 record and he finishes his two-year career with a 42-17 mark.
Josh Simons (Campbell Savona) also represented Alfred State at the Nationals in the 165 lb. weight class. Simons fell in both his matches, 11-0 to Bryce Lewis (Colby (KS) CC) and 11-4 to Paul Saraiva (Middlesex County (NJ) College).
The Pioneers finished tied for 33rd in the team standings. There were 43 teams at the National Championships in Rochester, MN.
