Several new professional staff members have joined the Alfred State College community.

Among the new hires are Dr. Brian Baker, Alfred; Jessica Dunster, Birdsall; Jason Gildner, Wellsville; Emily Hall-LochmannVanBennekom, Dansville; Kati Libby, Orono, ME; Gregory Nelson, East Syracuse; Samantha Roosa, Arkport; Kristin Sauerbier, Wayland; Dr. Jayne Swanson, Belfast; Christian Vernam, Dansville; Thomas Windus, Scio; and Jamie Winters, Alfred.

Dr. Brian BakerBaker joins the ASC community as executive director of the Institute for Sustainability, where he has oversight of the activities and projects of the three components of the Institute:  the international student programs.  In this capacity, she is responsible for advising and assisting international students with all aspects of adjusting to life at Alfred State College, advising the International Club, processing international student applications, and coordinating international student orientation.

Prior to joining the ASC staff, Winters worked in a variety of positions, including as an intern for the Centre for International Exchange and Development at Keele University, Staffordshire, England; sales manager, Prestige Hospitality; sales associate, Clarion Hotel of Albany; group tour/convention sales coordinator, Albany County Convention Visitors Bureau; and program coordinator, Albany Visitors Center.

Winters holds a master’s degree in intercultural relations from Lesley University and a bachelor’s degree in history from Siena College. She is the daughter of Katherine Winters, Fort Edward.
