The Alfred State College men's soccer team could not get out of an early hole and fell 3-1 to Hudson Valley CC in day two of the East-West Showdown at Jamestown CC.  The Pioneers are now 1-1 on the young season.

The Alfred State College men's soccer team could not get out of an early hole and fell 3-1 to Hudson Valley CC in day two of the East-West Showdown at Jamestown CC.  The Pioneers are now 1-1 on the young season.

Hudson Valley scored two goals in the first half but Alfred rallied with a free kick goal by Caleb Drake (Jasper Troupsburg).  ASC had a chance to tie the game but a penalty shot was stopped by the Viking goalie.  HVCC added an insurance goal to seal the victory.

Alfred State plays their first home game on Thursday when they host Genesee CC at 4 p.m.  The game will mark the first soccer game played on the college's new athletic complex.
