Men finish 4th, Women 6th at FLCC

The Alfred State College men's cross country team finished 4th while the women's team finished 6th at the Bruce Bridgeman Finger Lakes CC Invitational on Friday afternoon.

The Alfred State College men's cross country team finished 4th while the women's team finished 6th at the Bruce Bridgeman Finger Lakes CC Invitational on Friday afternoon.

Zak Williamson (Rocky Point) led the Blue and Gold with a 4th place finish.  He finished the 8K course in 29:03.  Corey Smith (Wallkill) finished 14th (30:15), Sam Estes (Wheatland Chili) finished 20th (31:09), and Josh Schmidbauer (Royalton-Hartland) finished 21st (31:12).  Michael Kaplan (Tri-Valley) rounded out the top five with a 31:19 in 26th place.

The Pioneers scored 77 points.  SUNY Delhi won the meet with a score of 19 followed by Mohawk Valley CC (71), and SUNY Cobleskill (73).

Rhea Cosay (White River, AZ) led the women's team with a 9th place finish of the 5k course.  She crossed the finish line in 22:11.  Jen Chan (Genesee Valley) finished 15th and Kaleigh Ligoci (Cicero North Syracuse) finished 20th (23:55).

The Lady Pioneers scored a 106.  SUNY Cobleskill won the event with a score of 60 followed by Mohawk Valley CC (73) and SUNY Delhi (73).

The Lady Pioneers return to action in two weekend's when they travel to the University of Rochester Invitational.
