Men finish 2nd, Women 5th at ECC Swim Invite

The Alfred State College swim team had a strong showing at the Erie CC Inviational on Saturday.  The men finished 2nd out of seven teams with 213 points while the women finished 5th with 129 points.

The Alfred State College swim team had a strong showing at the Erie CC Inviational on Saturday.  The men finished 2nd out of seven teams with 213 points while the women finished 5th with 129 points.

The men's 800 free relay team of Cory Roberts (Marcus Whitman), Wade Harrington (Campbell Savona), Josiah Halbolm (Bemus Point), and Ethan Wright (Clyde Savannah) finished 3rd (8:50.91) while the 400 medley relay team of Halbolm, Tim Guarino (Cornwall), Wright, and Roberts finished 4th (4:27.99).

Roberts finished 3rd in the 200 fly (2:29.10) and 4th in the 1650 free (21:26.07), Harrington finished 5th in the 1650 free (21:26.07), and Halbolm finished 5th in the 400 IM (5:41.43).

The women's relay team of Sabrina Dunning (Cuba Rushford), Ashley Andrus (Cuba Rushford), Emily Bergman (Horseheads), and Val Luppino (Buffalo) finished 5th in the 400 medley relay (5:36.72) and 5th in the 800 free relay (11:16.72).

Andrus finished 3rd in the 200 back (2:37.08) and 4th in the 200 free (2:18.03) while Dunning was 4th om the 1650 free (24:21.07).

The Pioneers dive back into action on Wednesday when they host their lone home meet of the season.  ASC welcomes Erie CC and Jamestown CC in a WNYAC double-dual meet beggining at 6 p.m.
