Freshmen outside hitter Brianne McMahon (Sweet Home) has been named the Region III Division III Player of the Year.  McMahon was joined on the All-Region 1st team by teammate Jessica Bonczar (Eden).  Yurika Toyodome (Tokyo, Japan) was a 2nd team selection.

Freshmen outside hitter Brianne McMahon (Sweet Home) has been named the Region III Division III Player of the Year.  McMahon was joined on the All-Region 1st team by teammate Jessica Bonczar (Eden).  Yurika Toyodome (Tokyo, Japan) was a 2nd team selection.

McMahon played in 66 games this season before suffering a season ending injury.  She recorded 177 kills (18.1 hitting % and 2.7 kills per game average), 212 digs (3.2 per game), and served 45 aces.  She recorded four double-doubles on the season (over ten kills and ten digs).  She also was named the MVP of the Mohawk Valley CC Tournament.

Bonczar played in 90 games as the team's defensive specialist.  She recorded a team high 487 digs (5.4 per game) and served up 47 aces.  She recorded over ten digs in 28 matches, over 20 digs in four matches, and over 30 digs in two matches.

Toyodome played in 95 of the teams 98 games this season.  She finished with 252 kills (38.8 hitting % and 2.7 kills per game), 461 assists (4.9 per game), and 40 service aces.  She also was credited with 32 solo blocks and 48 assisted blocks.  On the season she recorded seven double-doubles (over ten kills and ten assists) including three double-doubles in the Region III Tournament.

McMahon, Bonczar, and Toyodome were earlier named to the All-WNYAC team.

The Lady Pioneers finished their best season since 1977 with a 32-3 record and were ranked as high as #5 in the NJCAA Division III poll.
