Tiffany McLaughlinAlfred State College sophomore forward Tiffany McLaughlin (Wellsville) has been named the NJCAA Division II co-player of the week.  McLaughlin shares the honor with Megan Waggoner (Johnson County CC).

McLaughlin led the Lady Pioneers to 2-1 record from January 20 to January 26.  During that period she averaged 29.7 points per game, 5.7 rebounds, and 4.7 assists.

She started off the week with 24 points, nine rebounds, three assists, and a steal in a 52-50 loss to Medaille JV.  In the teams next contest she set a new scoring high with 30 points.  She also had seven assists, five rebounds, and two steals in a 74-63 victory over Mercyhurst North East.

McLaughlin saved the best for last as she scored a new career high 35 points in a 84-71 victory over Jamestown CC.  She passed out four assists, grabbed three rebounds, and had two blocks in the game.

For the week she shot 44.4% (28 for 63) from the field and 78.6% (33 for 42) from the foul line.

Heading into this week, McLaughlin was averaging 21.6 points per game, 5.8 rebounds, and 2.6 assists for the Lady Pioneers. 

A-State takes on Niagara County CC this evening at 5:30 p.m. at the Orvis Activities Center.
