Senior masonry students at Alfred State College recently donated their skills and time to construct a pizza oven for The Jesus Church in Addison.
Senior Building Trades Department at the College, and pastor, Chenunda Creek Fellowship Church, commissioned Richard’s students to build a similar oven for his ministry. Wright paid for the materials, and ASC students donated the labor.
“Pastor Wright and his wife Linda host several ministry get-togethers throughout the summer with upwards of 70 people from various congregations,” said Richard. “The new pizza oven allows them to cook one pizza in about one minute. They feel that the pizza oven was a nice addition to their self-made fire pit and pond that are attractions for people at these gatherings. The students constructed the oven, and it was transported to their rural residence in Avoca.”
