The Alfred State College men's swimming team spilt a WNYAC double-dual meet on Wednesday evening in Rochester.  ASC downed Jamestown CC 124-10 but fell 143-63 to Monroe CC.

The Alfred State College men's swimming team spilt a WNYAC double-dual meet on Wednesday evening in Rochester.  ASC downed Jamestown CC 124-10 but fell 143-63 to Monroe CC.

Aaron Mychack (Lansing) was the lone Pioneer that won an individual event.  He won the 50 free in 23.64.  Mychack was also part of the winning 400 relay team.  He teammed with Alex Newell (Binghamton), Phillip Valenta (Maine Endwell), and Brett Kozlowski (N. Tonawanda) to swim a 3:28.97.

Kozlowski earned a 2nd place finish in the 400 IM (4:47.84) and the 100 free (53.33) while Valenta was 2nd in the 200 back (2:22.33).  Newell earned 2nd place in the 500 free (5:15.63) and Nathan Forrest (Royalton Hartland) was 2nd in the 200 breast (2:37.33).

The Pioneers return to action in 2009 when they travel to the Erie CC Invitational on January 17.  Action is scheduled for a 1 p.m. start at the Flickenger Center in downtown Buffalo.
