The Alfred State College men's basketball team used a 10-0 run to break a 55-55 tie en route to a 72-66 victory over Fulton Montgomery CC in the opening round of the ASC Tournament.  The Pioneers improve to 4-5 on the year and will take on Rockland CC tomorrow in the championship game.

The Alfred State College men's basketball team used a 10-0 run to break a 55-55 tie en route to a 72-66 victory over Fulton Montgomery CC in the opening round of the ASC Tournament.  The Pioneers improve to 4-5 on the year and will take on Rockland CC tomorrow in the championship game.

Neil Wilson (Ft. Worth, TX) led all scorers with 25 points (5 for 8 from three) for the blue & gold.  Chris Dalton (Elmira Free) finished with 12, Rasean Parris (Benjamin Banneker) finished with 11 points and 12 boards, and Sir Aaron Taylor (Lincoln Hall) came off the bench and chipped in eight points and 13 rebounds.  Lydell Wilson (Freeport) chipped in seven points and eight assists.

ASC shot 33.8% from the field, 35.5% (11 for 31) from three, and 65.4% from the line.

Ashton Pascall and Devin Garner both finished with 16 points for Fulton Montgomery.  FMCC shot 33.8% from the field, 20% from three, and 47.8% from the line.

In the other opening round game, Rockland defeated Jefferson CC 89-67.  Jefferson and Fulton will square off at 2:30 p.m. in the consolation game followed by Alfred State and Rockland at 4:30 p.m.
