Lakeland uses Foul Line to down Lady Pioneers

Lakeland (OH) CC hit 26 of 43 foul shot attempts en route to a 84-68 victory over Alfred State in the finals of the Lakeland Tournament.  The Lady Pioneers fall to 8-5 on the season with one game remaining in 2009.

Lakeland (OH) CC hit 26 of 43 foul shot attempts en route to a 84-68 victory over Alfred State in the finals of the Lakeland Tournament.  The Lady Pioneers fall to 8-5 on the season with one game remaining in 2009.

Brittney Brooks (Elmira Free) led the Lady Pioneers with 19 points, eight rebounds, and five assists while Shadeeka Campbell (Brooklyn/William Grady) added 10 points, eight rebounds, and two blocks.  For their solid efforts, Brooks and Campbell were both named to the All-Tournament team.  Amanda Blake (Cuba Rushford) chipped in nine points for the blue & gold.

Lakeland bulit a 46-36 lead at halftime and never allowed the Pioneers to close the gap.

ASC and LCC will meet again next Sunday when the Lady Lakers travel to the Orvis Activities Center for a Noon tip-off.
