The Alfred State College volleyball season came to an end at the Region III Division III Tournament on Saturday.  The Lady Pioneers fell 2-1 in all three matches of pool play to end their 2010 season.

The Alfred State College volleyball season came to an end at the Region III Division III Tournament on Saturday.  The Lady Pioneers fell 2-1 in all three matches of pool play to end their 2010 season.

#2 seeded ASC fell 25-23, 17-25, 20-25 to #7 Herkimer CCC, 25-21, 29-31, 20-25 to #6 SUNY Delhi, and 23-25, 25-16, 11-25 to #3 Onondaga CC.

Meghan Kraus (Trumansburg) led the way with nine kills while Ashley Hulse (Hammondsport) and Kelley Dumbleton (Warsaw) added seven each vs. Herkimer.  Dumbleton also added 10 digs.  Brittany Haines (Salamanca) had 23 assists and 12 digs while Mishaya Tuttle (Campbell Savona) finished with eight digs.

Kraus connected on 15 kills and seven digs vs. Delhi while Haines had 35 assists and 13 digs.  Dumbleton had nine kills and seven digs, Mandy Bush (Altoona, PA) and Andrea Presher (Prattsburgh) chipped in 13 digs each , and Kara Anderson (Wayne Central) had 12 digs.

In their final match vs. OCC, Haines had 18 assists and 10 digs while Kraus had 11 kills and 10 digs.  Hulse chipped in four kills, four blocks, and three digs.

#1 Monroe CC, #3 Onondaga CC, #4 Corning CC, and #7 Herkimer CCC will play for the Regional championship on Sunday.

The Lady Pioneers wrap up the 2010 campaign with a 24-12 overall mark.  ASC was making its seventh straight trip to Regionals and has won 20 or more matches in five straight seasons.
