The Alfred State College women's basketball team wrapped up the regular season with a 70-53 victory at Niagara County CC.  With the win the Lady Pioneers improve to 17-8 (8-4 WNYAC & 8-2 Region III Division II).

The Alfred State College women's basketball team wrapped up the regular season with a 70-53 victory at Niagara County CC.  With the win the Lady Pioneers improve to 17-8 (8-4 WNYAC & 8-2 Region III Division II).

Tiffany McLaughlin (Wellsville) and Anthia Smith (Elmira Free) each finished with 21 points.  McLaughlin was 8 for 13 from the field while Smith recorded another double-double by adding 13 rebounds.

Kristin Abbott (Webster Thomas) finished with 10 points and six boards while Sherelle Brooks (Elmira Free) added five points and 10 assists.

Jeanette Dumais led the Lady Trailblazers with 18 points, eight rebounds, and six assists while Amanda Clay had 10 points off the bench.

The Lady Pioneers now shift their focus to the Region III Division II Tournament.  ASC will be the #2 seed and has earned a first round bye.  They will play in the semifinals on Saturday versus the winner of #3 Jamestown CC and #6 Niagara CCC.  The Final Four of the regional tournament will be played at the Flickenger Center in Buffalo.
