Lady Pioneers shut out JCC-Olean

The Alfred State College women's soccer team scored two 2nd half goals en route to a 2-0 victory over JCC-Olean on Tuesday afternoon.  The win is the Lady Pioneers second straight shutout and increases the teams unbeaten streak to six games (7-2-1 overall and 6-2-1 Region III Division III).

The Alfred State College women's soccer team scored two 2nd half goals en route to a 2-0 victory over JCC-Olean on Tuesday afternoon.  The win is the Lady Pioneers second straight shutout and increases the teams unbeaten streak to six games (7-2-1 overall and 6-2-1 Region III Division III).

After peppering the Olean net with 19 shots in the 1st half without getting one in the back of the net the Lady Pioneers got on the board at 28:33 of the 2nd half when Shelby Winchester (Maple Grove) scored on a header after getting a pass from Leandra Spoor (Laurens).  Brittany Hannah (Eastrige) made it 2-0 eight minutes later when she put a rebound off a Chelsea Lafayette (Eastridge) past the Lady Jaguar keeper.

Meghan Lowell (Keshequa) made one save in net to record the shutout while Jaguar goalies Justina Preston and Sarah Rhinehart combined for 15 stops.  ASC finished the contest with a 29 to 2 shot advantage.

The Lady Pioneers hit the road on Thursday for a 5 p.m. contest versus Erie CC.  The game will be played at the Orchard Park campus.
