The Alfred State College women's basketball team bounced back from their first WNYAC loss on Tuesday with an impressive 81-31 victory over Niagara County CC on Thursday evening.  ASC improves to 12-5 (3-1 WNYAC) with the victory.

The Alfred State College women's basketball team bounced back from their first WNYAC loss on Tuesday with an impressive 81-31 victory over Niagara County CC on Thursday evening.  ASC improves to 12-5 (3-1 WNYAC) with the victory.

Anthia Smith (Elmira Free) led four Lady Pioneers in doulbe figures with 22 points. She also added eight rebounds, three assists, and three steals.  Hillary York (Canisteo Greenwood) finished with 14 points off the bench on 4 for 7 shooting.  Rechelle Brooks (Elmira Free) added 11 while Desaundra Carr (Boys & Girls) added 10.  Kristin Abbott (Webster Thomas) finished with nine points and seven rebounds.

Jeanette Dumais led the Trailblazers with 17 points and 11 reobunds while Julie Quarantillo chipped in eight points.

ASC led 17-13 with just under ten minutes left in the 1st half before going on a 27 to 5 run to close out the half.  The Blue and Gold kept rolling in the 2nd half outscoring their opponent 37 to 9.

The Pioneers head to Monroe CC on Saturday for a 1 p.m. contest with the Lady Tribunes.
