The Alfred State College cross country teams remain in the top five in the latest NJCAA Division III poll.  The women moved up to the #3 ranking while the men remain ranked #5.

The Alfred State College cross country teams remain in the top five in the latest NJCAA Division III poll.  The women moved up to the #3 ranking while the men remain ranked #5.

The women's team won the FLCC Bruce Bridgeman Invitational on Friday.  Ashley Fung (Greenwich) was the top ASC finisher.  She finished the tough 5K course in 2nd place with a time of 21:38.  Mohawk Valley is currently ranked #1 while SUNY Delhi is #2.  Alfred State is 3rd with 270 points in the poll.

On the men's side the Pioneers won the FLCC Invitational on Friday.  John Sweeney (Barker) finished 2nd to lead the Pioneers.  He ran the 5-mile course in 29:16.  SUNY Delhi is currently ranked #1, Mohawk Valley CC is #2.  ASC received 220 points in this week's poll.

Alfred State will now turn their focus to the Houghton College Invitational this weekend.  The Pioneers will compete versus both NJCAA and four-year schools on Saturday.
