Playing for the first time in ten days, the Alfred State College women's basketball team dropped a 62-61 battle at Finger Lakes CC.  The Lady Pioneers are now 6-3 on the season.

With the game tied at 61 with 21 seconds left, FLCC was able to hit one of two foul shots to take the one-point lead.  The Pioneers grabbed the rebound on the missed second shot and raced down the court but were unable to score in two attempts.  ASC fouled FLCC again with six seconds left and got the ball back still trailing by one but could not get the game-winner to fall.

Camille Romero (Queens Village/Mary Louis) continued her solid play in 2011 with 26 points to lead ASC.  Nuri Bey (Bronx/HS of Computers & Technology) chipped in 13, Amie Brooks (Pavilion) in 12, and Ardaisha Hudson (Brooklyn/Food & Finance) had seven.

The blue & gold went into halftime leading 29-28 after Romero hit a three-pointer at the buzzer.

The Lady Pioneers return to action on Friday when they travel to Cuyahoga CC (Cleveland, OH) for a 5 p.m. contest with the Lady Challengers.
