The Monroe CC women's basketball team used their height advantage as they downed Alfred State College 98-53.  The Lady Tribunes, ranked #11 in the latest NJCAA Division I poll, out-rebounded ASC (9-13) 67 to 29 (33 to 7 on the offensive glass).

The Monroe CC women's basketball team used their height advantage as they downed Alfred State College 98-53.  The Lady Tribunes, ranked #11 in the latest NJCAA Division I poll, out-rebounded ASC (9-13) 67 to 29 (33 to 7 on the offensive glass).

Deree Fooks led the Lady Tribunes with 24 points while Cyialece Davis recorded a double-double with 15 points and 12 rebounds.  Charmonique Watt finished with 13, Krystal Parnell added 11 points and 11 assists, and Keona Jones chipped in 10 points.

Brittney Brooks (Elmira Free) continued her solid play leading the Lady Pioneers with 23 points and eight rebounds.  She connected on season high five three-pointers on the day.  Sherelle Brooks (Elmira Free) finished with nine points and seven assists while Gina Moss (Buffalo/Hutch Tech) chipped in six points.

The Lady Pioneers wrap up the regular season on Saturday when they host Jamestown CC in a key Region III Division II contest.  Opening tip-off is scheduled for 1 p.m. at the Orvis Activities Center.
