Playing for the first time since earning the #1 ranking in the NJCAA DIII poll, the Alfred State women's soccer team scored three goals in a span of 1:14 en route to a 4-0 victory over Penn College of Technology. With the win the Lady Pioneers are 16-1 on the year.

Playing for the first time since earning the #1 ranking in the NJCAA DIII poll, the Alfred State women's soccer team scored three goals in a span of 1:14 en route to a 4-0 victory over Penn College of Technology.  With the win the Lady Pioneers are 16-1 on the year.


Hannah Holmok (Alfred Almond) rattled a shot of the cross bar and the goalies back to get the blue & gold on the board 12 minutes into the game.  Taylor Dezio (Marion) and Kali Muhleisen (Alfred Almond) picked up assists.  24 seconds later Muhleisen scored after getting a pass from Keri Teufel (Sachem).  Just 50 seconds later Muhleisen found the back of the net again after getting another pass from Teufel.


In the second half, Muhleisen completed her hat trick and scored her 30th goal of the season after getting a pass from Dezio with just over 40 minutes left in the contest.


The Lady Pioneers held a 31 to 6 shot advantage in the game.  Krista DeCarlo (West Islip) played the first 79 minutes while Kayla Scharet (Warsaw) played the final 11 to combine for the shutout.  The pair made three saves on the day.


The blue & gold will next play in the Region III Division III A Tournament semifinals on Tuesday vs. the winner of #8 Onondaga CC and #9 Clinton CC.  OCC and CCC will play on Saturday afternoon in a 1st round contest.  The top seeded Lady Pioneers will host the contest at Pioneer Stadium at a time to be determined later.
