Lady Pioneers down Jamestown in Physical Battle

Two days after establishing a new career high of 30 points in a win over Mercyhurst North East, Tiffany McLaughlin (Wellsville) established a new career high with 35 points.  She was 7 for 11 from the field and hit 21 of her 24 foul shots.  She also passed out four assists, grabbed three rebounds, and was credited with two steals.

Anthia Smith (Elmira Free) also continued her solid play by recording her 11th double-double of the season.  She finished with 25 points (11 for 12 at the line) and 15 rebounds.  Desaundra Carr (Boys and Girls) added nine points.  Carr, Sherelle Brooks (Elmira Free), and Hillary York (Canisteo Greenwood) all hit clutch three pointers late in the contest to push the Lady Pioneers lead to double-digits for the first time in the contest.

Kari Barmore led Jamestown with 23 points and 11 rebounds.  Sierra Finch chipped in 12 points while Taylor Lubi added 10 points and seven rebounds. 

The contest was tied at 38-38 at the half but ASC pushed ahead with 38.7% shooting from the field and 86.4% (19 for 22) from the charity stripe.  The Lady Pioneers finished the day shooting 36.1% (22 for 61) from the field, 50% (3 for 6) from three, and 74% (37 for 50) from the line while JCC shot 35.5% (22 for 62) from the field 21.4% (3 for 14) from three, and 75% (24 for 32) from the line.

Alfred State returns to action on Tuesday when they travel to Batavia to take on the #10 Lady Cougars of Genesee CC.  Genesee enters the game 16-2.  Opening tip-off is scheduled for 6 p.m.
