Nine different Pioneers were credited with points as the Alfred State women's soccer team downed Cayuga CC 8-0. The #4 ranked blue & gold scored four goals in each half to improve to 10-1 (9-0 Region III Division III) on the year.

Nine different Pioneers were credited with points as the Alfred State women's soccer team downed Cayuga CC 8-0.  The #4 ranked blue & gold scored four goals in each half to improve to 10-1 (9-0 Region III Division III) on the year.


Kali Muhleisen (Alfred Almond) led the offensive attack with her 4th hat trick of the season.  Kerri Bellavia (Greece Athena) netted two goals and Hannah Holmok (Alfred Almond) had a goal and two assists.  Courtney Bonadonna (York) and Taylor Dezio (Marion) each had a goal and an assist while Ally Vargeson (Addison), Brittany McEwen (Caledonia Mumford), Keri Teufel (Sachem), and Emily English (Livonia) all were credited with an assist.


The Lady Pioneers trio of keepers Kayla Scharet (Warsaw), Brittney Oyler (Franklinville), and Krista DeCarlo (West Islip) combined in net for the shutout.  Alfred held a 54 to 1 shot advantage in the contest.  Breanne Becker made 31 saves for Cayuga.


Alfred has now won ten straight contests on the season after falling in their season opener.  In those contests they have outscored opponents 44 to 3 including 18 to 0 in the past three games.


The blue & gold have a few days off before heading to Corning CC on Thursday for a 4 p.m. contest with the Lady Red Barons.
