The Alfred State College women's soccer team recorded its sixth shutout, 2-0 over Niagara CCC, on Saturday afternoon. ASC, ranked #10 in Division III of the NJCAA, improve to 6-1-2 on the season.
Shawna McNeil (Hornell) got the Lady Pioneers on the board when she found the top of the net with her first career goal just 12 minutes into the game. Eight minutes later, Therese Hubbell (Bishop Kearney) added an insurance goal after getting a pretty pass from Shelby Winchester (Maple Grove).
Mo Parks (Avoca) and the defensive backfield, Chelsea Lafayette (Eastridge), Jackie Matteson (Greece Arcadia), and Audrey Rath (Medina) perserved the shutout victory. Parks made six saves.
The Lady Pioneers return to action on Tuesday when they head to JCC-Olean for a 6 p.m. contest with the Lady Jaguars.
