The Alfred State College volleyball team, currently 35-4, will be the #6 seed in the NJCAA Division III National Championships. The Lady Pioneers will play in Pool B beginning on Friday, November 16.
The Lady Pioneers will open up play at 11 a.m. (10 a.m. CST) versus #3 seed Brookhaven College (Farmers Branch, TX). Brookhaven, winners of the 2004 and 2005 National Title, enters the tournament 23-21,
At 3:30 p.m. (2:30 p.m. CST), the Blue and Gold take on #2 seed Central Lakes College (Brainerd, MN).
A-State rounds out pool play on Friday with 5 p.m. (4 p.m. CST) contest with #7 Suffolk Community College (Selden, NY).
Each of the three pool play matches are three games to 30. The top two teams in pool play based on the number of games won advance to the semifinals on Saturday.
In Pool A, #1 Ridgewater College (Willmar, MN), #4 Edison CC (Piqua, OH), #5 Rock Valley College (Rockford, IL), and #8 Catawaba Valley CC (Hickory, NC) will battle to advance to the semifinals.
