Honors Program members with Mike RonanMike Ronan, Alfred State College associate professor, Automotive Trades, School of Applied Technology, hosted a seminar for Alfred State Honors Program members at the senior auto shop in April. Ronan, a certified Rolls-Royce mechanic and transmission specialist, explained “How (Not) to Kill Your Car” and demonstrated common, often costly mistakes car owners commit. Students examined clutch and brake system components, transmissions, two-, four-, and all-wheel drive vehicles, and got a detailed explanation of motor oils, tire pressures, starter systems, and battery maintenance. The Alfred State Honors Program offers members a series of seminars on a wide range of topics.
