Haines Named First Team All-WNYAC

Alfred State College freshman volleyball player Brittany Haines (Salamanca) has been named first team All-WNYAC.  The Pioneers currently are 19-12 (17-10 in Region III Division III play) heading into this weekend's Region III Division III Tournament.

Alfred State College freshman volleyball player Brittany Haines (Salamanca) has been named first team All-WNYAC.  The Pioneers currently are 19-12 (17-10 in Region III Division III play) heading into this weekend's Region III Division III Tournament.

Haines has played in all 89 games this season for the blue & gold.  She has passed out 720 assists (8.1 per game), was credited with 206 digs (2.3 per game), and has registered 57 kills.  She has passed out more than 15 assists in all but four of the Pioneers 31 matches.

Haines was joined on the WNYAC first team by Lacy Blocker (Jamestown), Liza Cheseborough (Genesee), Katie Boxler (Erie), Alex DiGiore (Erie), and Brandy Calvert (Genesee).

In other WNYAC volleyball news, Kelley Dumbleton (Warsaw) was named to the All-Tournament team of the WNYAC Tournament.  Dumbleton had six kills and two blocks in the Lady Pioneers victory over Mercyhurst North East.

Alfred State takes on #3 seed Corning CC at 10 a.m., #2 Erie CC at approximately 2:30 p.m., and #7 Monroe CC at 4 p.m.  The regional tournament will be held at Corning CC.
