Alfred State College sponsored a "Get Your Ad Running" video contest during the just-completed spring semester. Using Alfred State College's tag line "Hit the Ground Running," contestants created a 30-second video showing why Alfred State College is the best place to get an education. First prize was $1,000, and second prize was $250. A special Voter's Choice award of $100 was also given. The contest was launched on March 17 and all video submissions were due by April 20. A panel of judges from Alfred State chose the first and second prize winners. On April 23, the contest was opened for one week of public voting. The special People's Choice award was given to the contestant with the most votes. The results: first prize winner was Adam Stahl, Clifton Springs, a junior in the Alfred State baccalaureate-level technology management program. Judges felt his video truly depicted what it means to be an ASC student and how ASC students can really hit the ground running. The second prize winner was Kyle Krause, Binghamton, a junior in the digital media and animation program. The artistic and animation quality of his video was "very unique and quite impressive," according to the judges. The People's Choice award went to Olivia Fish and Haley Smith. Fish is an eighth grader from Elkland, PA; Haley is also an eighth grader from Osceola, PA. Both attend Elkland Area School.
