Genesee CC's led 40-35 at half and was able to use a press to increase their lead en route to a 83-71 victory over Alfred State in the championship game of the 2009 ASC Tournament.  The Lady Pioneers fall to 6-3 on the year.

Genesee CC's led 40-35 at half and was able to use a press to increase their lead en route to a 83-71 victory over Alfred State in the championship game of the 2009 ASC Tournament.  The Lady Pioneers fall to 6-3 on the year.

Brittney Brooks (Elmira Free) led the Lady Pioneers with 31 points (5 for 6 from three-point land).  Megan Coates (Rochester/Nazareth) added 12 points, Amanda Blake (Cuba Rushford) chipped in 10, and Ayana Rhodes (Clermont, FL) grabbed 11 rebounds and passed out eight assists.

Tournament MVP Jamia Martin led the Lady Cougars with 29 points and seven rebounds.  Marcedes Caver added 15, Krystie Laurey chipped in 14, and Shakatta Brown had 12 points and eight rebounds.

The Lady Pioneers shot 35.2% from the field while GCC shot 44.9%.  GCC forced 28 turnovers.

Martin was joined on the all-tournament team by Caver, ASC's Brooks and Coates, Jefferson's Tara Gervera, and Fulton Montgomery's Kiana Hayden.  Jefferson downed FMCC 49-40.

The blue & gold are now 10-2 in the six years of the ASC Tournament.  The return to action after the Thanksgiving break on December 1 at Finger Lakes CC.  Tip-off is at 6 p.m.
